If you’re like most people, you love to cap off a night of drinks and debauchery with some late-night lovin’. To find some like-minded folk, check out Scooter McQuades Cafe & Bar, affectionately: Scooter’s.

This SW bar is small and narrow, so be prepared to find yourself entangled in a pro-athletes-and-the-girls-who-worship-them bevy. However, don’t let the fact that a Saturday night at Scooter’s is the closest you’ll come to a frat party north of Corvallis (yes-they even have jello shots for $1.75) deter you.

The dark wood décor, smoky air, big-screen TVs showcasing soccer games and Old Portland posters create a comforting, unpretentious environment. Plus, the friendly, if frenzied, bartenders pour drinks with a heavy hand. Try the $30 fish bowl- what the bartenders deem “a mix of everything”-for a huge sugar rush and a great conversation starter. Go early on weekend nights to snag one of the few booths, but don’t expect a crowd until late night (for the obvious reason).
